Saturday Special- Best Football Betting Adverts.

Increasingly betting companies are turning to advertising campaigns to attract punters to their respective sites. I decided to have a look at a few sites and there TV adverts.

Footballer kicking Cat. This advert topped the list as the most complained advert in 2010. It proves the British are a nation of animal lovers as over 1,300 people individually complained to the ASA over the advert for Irish bookmakers Paddy Power. However the advert was upheld to be safe to broadcast again, as it was deemed not to be offensive for blind people or encouraging cruelty to animals down to it's surreal tone.

Ladbrokes- Football opinion Cafe. The advert aired in 2007 and featured former players Lee Dixon, Ally Mcoist, Ian Wright & Christ Kamara. The advert pans to a cafe where the former players in the guise of builders. Chatting about the football, with the conversation eventually leading to Ian Wright declaring that he is going to put his money down Ladbrokes.

William Hill Austria- This advert is for the Austrian audience and stars John Cleese. Cleese who speaks perfect German, talks about the origins of the company, with the strains of Rule Britannia playing in the background. This show's how the brand is relying on it's heritage and British tradition to appeal to the Austrian audience.  Along with a strange raise of the eyebrows from the Monty Python Star.
